| The City of Nashoba as Shown in New YorkAnonymous Watercolor America c.1826 6 1/4" x 11 1/4"
An intriguing image showing the short-lived utopian community of Nashoba. Established in 1826 in Tennessee this was to be a community where whites and free blacks could live and work together. This may have been a scene of a fund raiser for the community. Nashoba did not last past 1830.
The image is rather ambiguous. It could have been a projected image from a magic lantern or could be an image from a moving panorama.
