This is one of Chéret's most famous posters.It advertises Émile Reynaud's Théâtre Optique and his projection of the first animated film like images in public, Pauvre Pierrot at the Musée Grévin in 1892. More than 500,000 people would witness these shows over eighteen years.
Note the usage stamp on the yellow dress, proof that the duty required for advertising had been paid.
